What was the driver that got you to bite the bullet and start up your business?
Mine is a little bit complicated. I needed to stay at home to look after my mentally handicapped daughter as well as providing something soothing and natural for my son who developed eczema. Never been one for not working so this was a challenge.
What has been the biggest risk you’ve taken with starting and running your business?
This would be self-funding. I was unable to source any funds through reputable agencies. I got told that I was too old! This was one of the drivers to keep me going to prove some people wrong.
And your biggest achievement?
I find it very difficult to blow my trumpet but I must admit that we have grown as a business despite the challenges we have faced. Personally as a mother to a mentally handicapped daughter. Every day is a challenge.
Does it work around your family life?
Family comes first and trying to balance the two can be achieved.
What would you tell yourself if you were starting again now?
Don't be discouraged. There is never a suitable time to start than "now".
Any tips you can share for starting up a small business?
See previous answer. I would also add that research your market well.
